American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious rap tracks that tackled sexual identity and race with a boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. While in college, she took classes in journalism and women's studies. She even spent a short time studying Mandarin in Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she shifted her focus on music. After becoming famous via the Internet the song My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the album she released, Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits like body-positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$1. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide that was published in 2015. This was another project. Alongside having a book published and a singer, she was also a professional as a performer. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 along with Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by"In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
