Courteney is a famous American actor, director and producer from the United States. Her most well-known work is her performance in the TV show 'Friends' as well as because she played one of the most prominent roles in the film franchise 'Scream. Her birthplace was in Birmingham, Alabama and developed an interest in acting when she was a youngster. She enrolled to study the field of architecture at Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC but she decided to leave her studies in pursuit of a full-time acting career. The actress made her film debut in the role in 'Down Twisted'. She started gaining fame after playing one of her most prominent roles in the horror slasher film 'Scream'. The film was extremely well-received commercially and earned eleven times its budget. The film was also praised by the film's critics. The actress reprised her character in the entire trilogy of the film. Her fame soared to new heights after she played the lead role in the cult sitcom "Friends". There were numerous nominations and awards for her performance. The series and its huge success, ran for 10 years. The most recent projects include a role as a support in the film drama "Mothers and Daughters".
